WELCOME TO THE CLASS BOARD CAMPUS-WIDE EVENT GALLERY!

Each year, in addition to events for our respective class years, we also hold larger-scaled events for all undergraduates. Here you can find the gallery of the five major campus-wide events that CCB holds every year!

The events featured here are CCB’s class-wide events. You can also find more details on class-specific events for the Class of 2024, Class of 2025, Class of 2026, and Class of 2027 on their event pages!

A Night on College Hill

A Night on College Hill (ANOCH) is CCB’s “welcome back” dance traditionally held in the fall semester. ANOCH is a semi-formal-optional dance of between 1600-2000 students. Attendees can enjoy live performances from Brown University student bands. Performers in previous years have included Orange Guava Passion, The Sundials, and our most recent performer MOODRING! ANOCH is a cherished tradition and a great way to start off a wonderful new year of campus events!

Winter Festival

Winter Festival is CCB’s annual takeover of the Stephen Roberts ‘62 Campus Center! Towards the end of the semester, as Fall begins to fade into winter, CCB welcomes the snowy season with a plethora of winter activities. At winter festival, students can participate in winter-themed cookie decorating, enjoy some hot chocolate and other treats to stay warm in the cold providence weather, make winter carnations and other crafts and, thanks to a recurring partnership with the Brown University Relaxation Project, relax with a guided meditation to take a load off as finals get closer! Winter Festival is a great way to get together with classmates one last time before winter break!

GALA

Gala is the second dance that CCB holds every year. A slightly more formal dance, Gala hosts between 2000 and 2400 students. Gala 2024 was held at Rhode Island Convention Center ( RICC) and students were bused to the event. Gala, like ANOCH features live performances by Brown University Student performers every year. Students can also enjoy a Photo Booth and a catered food buffet!

Carnival

Four years ago, CCB held our first Carnival to celebrate the end of the academic year. It was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event! Carnival is often held on one of our main campus greens, Ruth J. Simmons Quad. Students enjoy a variety of carnival games through which they can win tickets to get unique prizes from our prize booth. A wide selection of food is provided, from carnival staples like cotton candy and fried Oreos to delicious food truck foods like tacos and ice cream. Carnival collaborates with beloved student groups to offer fun activities such as getting a portrait drawn, making giant bubbles, and playing board games. To truly encapsulate the feeling of a carnival on campus, provide several inflatable attractions including large inflatable slides, an obstacle course, and the infamous MELTDOWN!

Gigs on the Green

Gigs on the Green is our last campus-wide event of the year. It is traditionally held the Friday before Spring Weekend, Brown’s annual weekend music festival. Gigs on the Green is the largest student-performance concert every year. Thanks to CCB’s collaboration with two wonderful groups Sounds@Brown and Underground Thursdays, Gigs showcases the premier musical performance groups on campus. The concert celebrates every genre of music that we can, from bluegrass to pop-funk any and all students are welcome to audition and perform!
